Cancun is as beautiful as it gets! The clear, aqua blue Caribbean waters that surrounds the white sandy beaches is enough to make your heart sing at first sight!

After checking in at the Hyatt Zilara lobby, we bee line it to the huge glass sliding doors that lead from the hotel to the infinity pool and the ocean. Pick up your drink of choice on the way out at the bar (it’s all included). You will find a coffee shop to the right of the sliding glass doors if that’s more up your alley.

As you step out, you will first notice in front of you, the very large infinity pool facing the beach. To your left is a poolside swim up bar and the Pelicanos Restaurant above the pool. Pelicanos is an excellent restaurant overlooking the pool and beach. My favorite is the shrimp and pineapple salad with coconut dressing. And for dessert, I love the grilled pineapple with coconut ice cream. You can ask for a table overlooking the beach for a great view of the cabanas, palm trees and the Caribbean Ocean.

The two story cabanas must be rented through the Zilara and are great for larger parties. Some of the cabanas on the beach that don’t have an upper deck are free for any of the Zilara guests to use but some are assigned to specific rooms. Ask the attendants which ones are free to use for Zilara guests.

The Hyatt Zilara Cancun is a place for relaxation and a time to forget all of your troubles. Standing at the steps of the glass doors, you feel as though the waves are calling and enticing you to come and bathe in the crystal clear, warm waters.

If it’s water activity you seek, then seek no more! There are plenty of Para-sailing and Sea-Doo companies on the beach. We took a loveseat parasailing ride and it was stupendous! We were up in the air, feet dangling with a clear view of the coastline and all its splendor. There are also day excursions you can plan through the Hyatt Zilara. For example, you can a take a boat to Isla Mujeres for a relaxing day out. Isla Mujeres is a Mexican Island in the Caribbean about 8 miles from the Cancun coast.

On the Zilara property you will find a Zen Spa, state of the art Sky Gym, coffee shop, five bars & lounges, Swim-up Suites, infinity pool, poolside and oceanfront cabanas, six restaurants and much more. I recommend a cabana couples massage at the Zen Spa. You can also request the massage be done on a pergola over the sandy beach so you can hear the ocean waves. For a dinner recommendation, our favorite evening restaurant is Maria Marie where you can find traditional Mexican food and live mariachi music.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Zilara Resort many times and have never been disappointed. The service is impeccable and the food above par. The service staff is ever so willing to assist with anything you might need. Did I mention all rooms face the ocean?!

If you truly want to get away and relax without having to leave the resort, the Hyatt Zilara All-Inclusive is the place for you. Just pop off your sandals, jump in the pool and relax. Don’t forget the sunblock!
(Tip: We recommend bringing lots of dollar bills for tipping)
